Art Party Info: Once in a while we host what we call an Art Party. When we host an Art Party any & all artists can be a part of those shows. There is no theme, its just an evening for artists to show their work to our patrons. The night starts out with an artist reception, then it slowly becomes a fun party with DJs or live musicians. To participate, email doogallery@yahoo.com & state Art Party as the subject. Commissions: The gallery will take a 25% commission on art that is sold. Out of City, State or Country artists: For the artists that live more than 100 miles away from the gallery and you can not drop off your art. We do not take a commission on your first piece of art if it is sold. We will take 10% on the rest of the pieces that are sold. The artist pays for all of the shipping costs. Please have the return shipping payment & paperwork included in your packaging. We do not collect the Hanging fee either. Hanging Fee: There is a $20 per artist (not per piece) hanging fee.(The reason: If I am going to do all the work to promote, sell, hang your art, and pay for the show, you should be able to assist the gallery by bringing a few of your friends to the show. The gallery's commission is low, the gallery recoups it's expenses from the door donations.) Promotional Partnership: The gallery does not take a large commission because we want to help & support the artists. The gallery recoups it's expenses by collecting door donations. The more people that attend each show means more people to view your art and more money collected at the door to support the gallery. We try to work with each artists during a show. Each show is a joint venture. If an artists helps the gallery the galley in turn will help or award the artist. How? If an artist invites 5 paying customers to a show then we will return the hanging fee. If an artist invites 10 paying customers to a show then we will return the hanging fee and collect only 10% on art that is sold. Each artist must design their own flyer. The guests they invite must give the doorman their flyer. That way we'll know what patrons each artist invited. The info to put on the flyer each artist must produce can be found at the link to the party found on the Future Show link. Art Drop Off Info: There are scheduled Drop off dates. Click here for those dates. All Art must be ready to be hung. Provide a 3x4 display card which has the piece's title, artist, medium & price on it. You do not have to submit your art to be accepted into any Art Party. If you want to show it, it will be displayed. Suggested amount of art each artist may drop off: 2 or 3 piecses or, 1 piece of art if it is 4'x8' or larger, 6 pieces if they are 8"x10" & smaller Email to doog@doogallery.com We also have a myspace site it is http://www.myspace.com/doogallery
